Job Description: 

The Railway Hotel Parkes is seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and be able to create delicious, high-quality pub-style dishes using fresh, local ingredients.

 

About Us: 

This Railway Hotel Parkes is a 2-story building that caters to locals and tourists. We are a hot spot for hosting many functions, including local events, milestone celebrations and live music, with most weekends reaching max capacity. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Create dishes that align with the pub's theme

• Up-to-date with culinary trends

• Train, supervise, and manage kitchen staff

• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards

• Monitor and maintain food inventory and purchasing

• Work closely with management to control food costs and maintain profitability

• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Continuously improve and innovate menu offerings

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a similar setting

• Proven experience developing and executing a successful menu

• Strong leadership and management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Passion for cooking and creating new, delicious dishes

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
